"Mindbender" - maybe a nerdy retitling of "Confusion's Prince"
... early Grateful Dead or very late Warlocks - who knows for sure?
It's one of the late '65 Autumn demos they sometimes played live in 1966.

1966 forever!

wait a minute!

there's the stereo 1966-10-07 CPW that rocks out...

and there's the March 18, 1967 one, too...

and then the July 1, 1966 version that's overlooked

+ one that's really overlooked is the hidden track on 1966 rare Cuts & Oddities, after a 8:35 live version of Caution, Phil Lesh says stuff, then Bill Graham says goodnight to Pigpen and from 9:15 to 10:20 silence.
Then boom, a great studio outtake of Cream Puff War kicks in for at least 40 seconds before the band stops playing after Jerry misses a few words or whatever.

I'll have to get back to ya on this cause I like em all, ever since I heard the 1st LP...
& dig the uncut, expanded version of CPW on the Rhino cd! of the 1st LP.

look man, I'll tell ya, I don't know anything about this 1987 or 1978 whatever, I came to the Fillmore West, a young kid, who loved music, I just loved the stuff that went ...

and Cream Puff War, eventually I realized, that went!

So that's why I picked my handle.

Garcia could tear that guitar into a thousand notes, whoah.

Pure energy.

I don't want to know about uh uh, half asleep stuff.
That's just me - and maybe Cliff.
No offense folks - The GD were great musicians, ok. No time barriers.

Just gimmee that blam, and I'm sailin'. Razor's edge, one toke, either way...

it's the music.

Hiss, wow and flutter, oh well, as long as it takes off, yeah!

This message will self destruct in 5 eons.

Goood luck Jim.
